Former Skyhawks on Display in the "Show Me" State

Two former Skyhawk players are doing great things at Southeast Missouri State University. This college is in NCAA Division 1-AA and is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference. Tarik Simpson #7 (top photo) -(Skyhawk '94)is entering his senior year. He is projected as the starting WR for the Indians. Tarik completed the 2001 season as the fourth leading receiver on the team with 28 catches for 366 yards and 3 Td's. After helping to lead the 1994 Bantam Team to the Championship Game, Tarik continued his career at Canarsie H.S. Tarik earned All-City and All-State honors and competed in All-Star games afetr his senior year at Canarsie. Kelvin Jones #8 (bottom photo) - (Skyhawk '95) is also a senior and is projected to start at outside linebacker this year. Kelvin gained valuable experience on special teams and as a backup during the 2001 season. Kelvin played in 10 games and recorded 27 tackles. After helping to win the 1995 Bantam Division Championship, Kelvin went on to Canarsie HS where he played WR and SS. Kelvin was named a Brooklyn All-Star and participated in the NYC Coaches All star game. We wish both Tarik and Kelvin good luck for the upcoming season and continued success in their future endeavors.
